I retired from Wake Forest University in June 2021 after 35 years of ministry in academia: Eden Theological School for a year, Candler School of Theology and the Graduate Division of Religion at Emory University for 23 years, and Wake Forest as a University Professor for 11 years. I always found new challenges and never tired of the work, but I don't miss it -- retirement with freedom to enjoy or work on whatever I want is fantastic. I've moved to Asheville, North Carolina, and love living in such a beautiful place.
