Melinda and I volunteer with the First UMC Independence, which accepted us in our retirement. We also volunteer quite a bit at the Wilderness Camp northeast of Kansas City (42 miles) near Lawson. The camp has 320 acres, which allows us to spread out to different areas of the camp not get in each other's way. We help with maintenance projects, painting, repairs, helping with hospitality centers during the camp's 5K run/walk and other events. With all those acres an projects come join us! You'd be welcome!

We also drove to Sierra Vista, Arizona, to visit our youngest daughter. Another daughter chaperoned us providing conflict management during our 20 hour drive out and 20 hour drive back to Missouri. I've had fun helping with pulpit supply at First UMC Independence, Northern Boulevard UMC (Independence), St. Mark's UMC (Independence) and Appleton City Christian Church.  Grandchildren keep us centered. Melinda was able to "ring the bell" two years ago from breast cancer!
