Janice Petty, my twin sister, passed unexpectedly on Sept. 29, 2021. Janice was also a retired elder of the Rio Texas Annual Conference of the UMC. Services were held at graveside on Oct. 2, 2021, in Braymer, Missouri. I returned to Missouri to make arrangements, attend the service and also spent a few days with family.

Currently, I am in the midst of some house updates. Workers have been here for a few days painting the outside of my home. Next, I will be changing out more of the floors. Even though I am not doing actual labor, one project at a time is my motto. I am also discovering a few unique shops in the area. In a couple of weeks, I plan to drive north and enjoy the scenery in the North Georgia mountains. Of course, I still spend plenty of time with my grandchildren.
