Youthfest
News

On October 14-15 at the Missouri State Fairground in Sedalia, hundreds of youth will gather to make a difference. There will be a mixer to meet youth from all over the state (knocker balls, a climbing wall, etc.) a fantastic concert/worship with Lee Roessler, and opportunities to serve together. We will pack beans and rice (46,000 pounds) for Missouri families, complete backpacks of love for children in foster care, check hygiene packs for women in prison and so much more.
Last year youth efforts helped us distribute resources to 106 Missouri agencies serving 120,000 people a month, and this year we will likely help even more. Thanks to our amazing partner Stop Hunger Now, each youth will have the opportunity to pack international meals to bless people around the world. Heifer International will also be leading a powerful lesson on world hunger.
Our theme this year is Share the Light and our focus is “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven” from Matthew 5:16. During the Friday evening concert/worship, we want to celebrate the ways your youth groups are sharing the light through service in your community. We challenge you to make a video highlighting these efforts (no more than 2 minutes), and we will share them throughout the weekend. Share the videos with us through Dropbox with festival@socket.net by October 10.
Registration is $30 from September 1-30, and $40 for late registration until the event on Oct. 14. A dollar from each registration will be donated to Show Me Youth Homes and we will hear testimonies about their work on Friday night. For more information and to register visit, www.festivalofsharing.org/youthfest.html.
Make sure to check out the video on this webpage to inspire your youth to sign-up. We also invite each youth group to encourage their churches to collect donations and bring them to share. If you have questions please email festival@socket.net or call 573-474-3332. It is going to be an amazing Youthfest, and we cannot wait to see you there.
