Other ways United Methodist congregations are asked to focus on the following mission and service efforts:
  • PRAY. Pray for the people of affected areas and first responders and agencies managing damage assessment. Include those affected by the quakes and aftershocks in your prayers during worship. Search Discipleship Ministries for worship resources during times of natural disaster, including a Communion liturgy appropriate for those celebrating communion and a prayer and suggested hymn list.
  • LEARN. UMCOR has processed an initial grant to International Blue Crescent, a longstanding UMCOR partner, to help provide tents, heaters, blankets, warm clothes, ready to eat meals and first aid kits to those who have been displaced. Learn more about UMCOR’s response including a short video. Stay connected by following Global Ministries Facebook page.
  • GIVE. Support relief and recovery efforts for this and other international disasters by donating UMCOR’s Advance # 982450.
