The mission of Next Generation ministries is to lead local churches of the Missouri Conference in intentional faith development that shapes next generations into mature disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. This office is directed by Rev. Garrett Drake, Catalyst for Next Generation Ministries and facilitated through four divisions known as: child-age, youth-age, college-age, and camping ministries. Previously the Missouri conference had the divisions of youth-age, college-age, and camping separated. Now directed under one umbrella, the Office of Next Generation Ministries is able to maximize spiritual formation opportunities through each of these divisions so that local churches can strengthen their efforts for intentional faith development of the next generation.

In late December, spiritual formation opportunities for 2015 will be published. Previously known as the “camping book,” the office of Next Generation Annual publication will publicize camping options for children and youth (residential and mobile), mission trips for youth and college-age, events such as Wow and Confirmation weekend, equipping opportunities for clergy, staff and volunteers working with the next generation, internships for college-age students and youth, grants for youth to engage in spiritual formation opportunities in their community, and a new program that will partner with churches to equip youth to serve as the next generation of leaders in the local church. In 2016 and beyond, this publication will become available in September allowing churches to have information in advance of their planning for the upcoming year.
