Jo-Ota to Celebrate 60 Years of Fun & Faith

Missouri’s four United Methodist camps are just about to wrap up a busy summer of 2013, but the fun isn’t over.

On September 28, Camp Jo-Ota will celebrate 60 years of ministry. On September 22, 1953, Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Barrow deeded more than 70 acres to be used for a camp for conference purposes, four and one quarter miles north and east of Clarence.

The staff at Camp Jo-Ota invites all those that have been to Camp Jo-Ota to come on that date and share in the stories, the history, and the changed lives that have been influenced by God and this special place.

The celebration will be from noon to 4 p.m. with lunch being served, courtesy of Camp Jo-Ota.  At 1 p.m. there will be a celebration of the past 60 years presented and the opportunity to share a few stories that have impacted lives. There will be tours available of the camp facilities. There is golf cart transportation available for people with mobility problems. God has richly blessed the camp in the last 60 years and we would like for everyone to be a part of this celebration as we look to what God has planned for the future.
