I am the Missouri Conference

Sharon Bruner grew up Methodist, attending Brandon UMC near Windsor. Her husband Cliff married into it 49 years ago, when he and Sharon were married by a Methodist pastor in Sharon’s parents’ home.
When the couple moved to the La Monte area, their neighbors invited them to Dresden UMC. They enjoyed the little country church, until the elderly congregation became too small to be sustainable, and the church closed. They then moved down the road to
La Monte UMC.
Although their children are grown and have children of their own, Sharon is still a 4-H leader, just like she has been for 22 years. Her youth and she bring home a lot of ribbons from the fair. And once a month, she and Cliff take their pickup truck to the Open Door food bank in Sedalia, where they get food to take back to church, so that it can be distributed to people in need. About 35 to 40 families get food this way.
They might not be needy, but Sharon is also feeding the men’s group by cooking the men’s breakfast at 7 a.m. on the third Saturday of every month.
