Hart Family to Receive House From Annual Conference
News

Volunteers at Annual Conference built all the walls for the new home. Since then many more volunteers have worked together to raise the walls and put the roof on. July 5 was a volunteer workday supported by churches in the Joplin area. The Harts joined in as they saw their dream materialize.
Why do this? Because mission is not just something we do, it’s the way we live life. It is truly the love of God manifested through His people as they reach out a helping hand to someone in need. Sometimes we build houses, repair them, clean up debris, pray, hold someone’s hand during grief, and provide encouragement and hope for the future... sometimes we just listen.
Every expression of service is a way to touch a life after a disaster or trauma. There is no effort too great or too small. That is why thousands of United Methodist volunteers continue to serve in Disaster Care and Volunteers in Mission.
Perhaps God is calling you or your church to this kind of ministry.
