Friday Night Fun

News

David and Thelma Steward are both fans of and friends with BeBe Winans. As the chairman and founder of World Wide Technology, one of St. Louis’s largest companies, David Steward has brought BeBe Winans to St. Louis for events before and sometimes had him come the church where he is a member, Salem United Methodist Church in St. Louis, to sing there as well.

The Stewards offered to share the gift of Winan’s musical talent at Annual Conference Session, which worked well into the schedule this year for a Friday night concert. The concert was a gift from the Stewards and did not involve apportionment dollars or registration fees. It was open to the public, and information promoting it was shared with historically black Methodist denominations in St. Louis, African Methodist Episcopal (AME), African Methodist Episcopal Zion (AME Zion or AMEZ) and Christian Methodist Episcopal.

Mr. Winans was joined on stage by Florida-based Gospel singer Margaret Bell-Beyars and backup singers and band members from the local area. The room was filled for the event.
