Virtual Special Session Registration Now Open

Registration is now open for the 2023 Virtual Special Session of the Missouri Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church. The Special Session is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, via the GoToWebinar platform. This email includes all the details you'll need to know before you register.
Who Should Register
Registration is for voting lay and clergy members only. Guests and non-voting members should not plan on registering. The entire virtual session of annual conference will be livestreamed at www.MOACinfo.com for guests and non-voting members to participate. A recording will be made available. The GoToWebinar platform will be considered “the bar” for the session.

Agenda
This special session shall be held solely for the purpose of considering and voting upon the disaffiliation of certain local churches from The United Methodist Church pursuant to Paragraph 2553 of The United Methodist Book of Discipline. No business shall be brought before the special session except for the disaffiliation of churches that complete the requirements of Paragraph 2553, a list of which will be provided on the Conference website on Thursday, Nov. 9. The complete list of church disaffiliations included in the special session vote will be released via email to clergy and lay members registered for the special session and online at www.MOACinfo.com on Thursday, Nov. 9.

Voting Credentials
Voting members will receive their virtual session information in the week prior to the Special Session via the email used in your registration form.
- If you incorrectly typed your own email address or if you change email addresses between now and November, you will not receive the credentials.
- Some of us have more than one email account. Be sure to note which address you used when you register. That’s the one you’ll need to be admitted as a voting member of the Conference.
- Login information for the virtual session will come from the email address, "MOAC Webinars customercare@gotowebinar.com" in November. Consider adding that address to your Safe Senders list in your email client.
Technical Specifications
The virtual session will be conducted via GoToWebinar. The best experience for a virtual session is via:
- Laptop of desktop computer with 2GB of RAM (minimum), 4GB or more of RAM (recommended).
- Mobile devices can stream the virtual webinar but the full function of the GoToWebinar app may not be available on your mobile device. Mobile devices should be iOS 10.0 or newer or Android OS 5 (Lollipop) or newer.
- All devices should have microphone and speakers enabled.
- Internet speed for a computer: 1 Mbps or better. Internet speed for mobile device and Chromebook: 3G or better (Wi-Fi recommended for VoIP audio).
- Optimal web browsers: Google Chrome (most recent 3 versions) or Mozilla Firefox (most recent 3 versions). Do not use Safari.
