Many of my photos have to do with relationships. My eye is often drawn to images of glances between people, someone touching another in a meaningful way, people engaged in a common activity such as dancing or sports. In athletics, strong relationships help teams beat other teams which have greater talent. Likewise in the faith community, healthy and loving relationships cause churches to thrive even where conventional wisdom says they shouldn’t. Strong relationships can propel churches to become large, crashing through common plateau barriers because of the cohesive power of small groups. It’s all about relationships. It’s of great importance to Christ for people to be properly joined to one another in the body of Christ, and to use relationships even with enemies to redeem and transform. “For when we place our faith in Christ Jesus, there is no benefit in being circumcised or being uncircumcised. What is important is faith expressing itself in love." [Galatians 5:4]
