Three Lay Servant courses will be offered between two locations at the Gateway Central District Lay Servant Workshops on Saturday, March 30, 2019. Registration available soon ($20 per course which includes lunch).  Each participant is responsible for their own course book.  Courses offered include:

Core Classes:
Introduction to Lay Ministry (Basic)
Ministry isn’t just a clergy endeavor; all Christians are called to serve. Laity serve on the front line of evangelical living.  This course will help laity explore and discover their unique call in serving God, neighbor and the greater church.
From Pew to Pulpit (Advanced)
A down-to-earth, practical introduction to the ins and outs of preaching for lay preachers, bi-vocational pastors, and others newly arrived in the pulpit.

Justice in Everyday Life (Advanced)
Take an in-depth look at the Social Principles of The United Methodist Church - the church's attempt to speak on contemporary issues with which it is confronted today. We will cover topics such as the following: Natural World, Social Community, Economic Community, Political Community, Biblical Foundations of the Social Principles, and Teaching the Social Principles.
