This course is a model for congregational care, a laity-centered ministry, where laypersons receive training and are then commissioned to serve as Congregational Care Ministers (CCMs), caring for the people in their congregation and community alongside their pastors.  We will also review the characteristics of Congregational Care Ministers (CCMs), how to recruit people to this ministry, how to discern if candidates are a good fit, and how to conduct the CCM training.  We will discuss the critical information CCM's must know and the behaviors and habits they must practice to be effective.  The class instructor is Gail Compton, Certified Lay Minister.

This class will be offered Saturday, February 25, from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM at Warsaw UMC

Each participant must purchase the book The Caring Congregation Ministry Implementation Guide by Karen Lampe & Melissa Gepford.  It can be purchased from Amazon, Christbook, or Abingdon Press.   Please read the book in its entirety before attending class.

There is a  $10 registration fee that helps cover costs for any class handouts, as well as soup and salad for lunch.
