The purpose of the Ministry of All Believers course is to clarify the critical role of the laity in the life and mission of the Church and to inspire and equip lay persons to pursue God’s call on their lives as part of the Body of Christ. The course will be facilitated by various pastors and laity, including Rev. Kayla Roe, Rev. Tish Green, Don Mowery, Mike Rushing, and Amy Hodges.

This course is designed to be entry-level for persons new to church leadership or interested in learning more about how they can deepen their understanding and response to God’s call as a layperson and build skills to minister or lead in the local church. The Ministry of All Believers course is also a pre-requisite for becoming a Certified Pulpit Supply.

This course will explore the importance of the ministry of all of us as believers, primarily how lay servants serve by caring, communicating, and leading and how we grow in discipleship.

This class will be Saturday, January 28 at First UMC in Festus, MO. 

The class will meet from 9:00 AM- 4:30 PM. Check-in begins at 8:30 AM.

There will be a $15 fee for participation in this course, which will cover lunch, materials provided, and snacks.   

Students must also purchase the Lay Servant Ministries: Basic Course Participants Book.

They are available at  Cokesbury or Amazon. 

It is recommended to review the book, especially the first four chapters. It is not required to read it in its entirety.
