This is an advanced class. Prayer is something we learn. It is something that can be taught. For many, however, the only teaching about prayer they ever receive is modeled in Sunday worship. This course may challenge some of your assumptions, test some of your preconceived ideas, stretch your thinking and enrich your prayer life. This class will be led by Rev. Kim Polchow.
Please know that all classes require a total of 10 hours of participation. We have allotted 2.5 hrs for you to read and comprehend the book Shaping the Prayers of the People: The Art of Intercession by Samuel Wells and Abigail Kocher; the class time on Saturday, February 12, will begin at 9 a.m. and concludes at 3 p.m., totaling for five hrs of participation; and the final 2.5 hrs are allotted for your written summary on the course including your action plan of using what you have learned from the course. Failure to read the book, attend class and/or complete the action plan will prevent credit for the course. You can purchase the book through chistianbook.com for about $9 or through cokesbury.com for just under $14. For those attending in person, lunch will be provided.
