Our Teacher for the Day
Jennifer Smith, CEO of Midwest Strategies
Raised in Springfield, Missouri, Jennifer holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Missouri State University. She also holds a master’s in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University and two graduate degrees in banking through Vanderbilt and Louisiana State.
After 15 years in the financial services industry, in 2007 she left her banking career as chief financial officer and marketing director for a locally owned bank to start Midwest Strategies. The firm provides business consulting and training services to small and mid-sized businesses across all industries as well as not-for-profits.
Jennifer has successfully worked across multiple generations over the years and has helped many organizations do the same. She has served on many boards and received numerous awards in her professional career and was recognized as the Cape Girardeau Chamber's Small Business of the Year in 2012. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, SCUBA diving, reading, community service and spending time with her 15-year-old daughter.
