Title of Class: Public Prayer, Virtual via Zoom

Summary of Class: Praying in public can be daunting, but prayer is something one learns. This course on praying in public will help the participant grow in confidence and skill in public prayer and enrich their personal prayer life.

Description:
This class will be hosted by the Northwest District office and offered virtually via Zoom. Please ensure you can attend each class, held Wednesdays in the month of July (14, 21, 28) and August (4, & 11) from 6:30 – 8:30 PM. This class will be taught by Rev. Sherry Oxandale, Associate Pastor at First Kearney UMC in the Northwest District.
Participants will need the book “Shaping the Prayers of the People: The Art of Intercession” by Samuel Wells and Abigail Kocher. It is available through Cokesbury, and Amazon. Participants are responsible for purchasing the book before class. Please read Chapters 1 & 2 prior to the first class. There will be reading and/or coursework each week.

There are no prerequisites required to take this course. It counts as an advanced lay servant ministry class upon completion. Attendance at each class is required to receive completion status.

We can host up to 20 participants, and registration will close by end of day July 5, 2021.

Plan to have your book, a notebook, a pen and your bible with you at each class. You will receive the class Zoom link one week prior to the start of class.
