St. James UMC: Baptisms During Distancing

September 28, 2020

By Rev. Amy Turner

In the midst of the turmoil of our present day, on Sunday, June 14, the sun was shining, a nice breeze was blowing, and five young people from St. James UMC in St. James, Mo., felt immersed in the love of their church family as they came for Baptism.

Pastor Alecia Fischer led the outdoor service on the church lawn as Trenton Bryan, Viktor Scantlin, Olivia Mitchell, and Jasmine Blaine rose from the water covered with the love of God, and Alex Pack remembered his Baptism.

Each then knelt as family and friends came to lay hands on them, and they became members of this warm and
welcoming congregation.
One this day, God was in his heavens, and all is right with the world.
