- To cultivate a safe and nurturing environment for children to grow in their discipleship of Jesus Christ and explore their spirituality
- An advocate and the voice of children in all matters that affect children’s inclusion, discipleship, and leadership in the church.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A desire to serve in Christian ministry and the desire to encourage a safe place to do so
- Be a self-starter. Able to work independently and as part of a team as situations dictate
- Willing to develop mentoring relationships with a variety of children, parents, and leaders
- Ability to help lead Bible study, discussions and group activities as a part of a team of adult ministry partners
- Must pass a background check and adhere to our Safe Gatherings policy
In partnership with the Associate Pastor and the Discipleship Team, provide overall direction and oversight for all children’s programing, including:
- Serve as the point person for all discipleship for households with school-aged children
- Planning and leading children’s activities (Sunday and Wednesday) consistent with the Christian calendar. King’s Way's family ministry programs utilize Orange Curriculum
- Planning and leading other activities for discipleship, fun or relationship building
- Seasonal serving opportunities as appropriate
- Planning and leading family mission trips/serving opportunities
- Coordinate nursery care staff of all events necessary
- Administrative support for communication with parents/guardians, children’s volunteers, and support staff
- With the help of the Discipleship Team, develop and implement a system to recruit, train and provide resources to a diverse section of small group leaders
- Leverage digital strategies to enhance learning, relationships, and information sharing
- Manage the budget and resources needed to make children’s ministry successful
- Be an active, collaborative and life-giving member of the team by living out the policies of our staff values and employee manual Implement five points of King’s Way’s discipleship pathways framework: Worship, Mentoring, Spiritual Practices, Formational (Life) Groups and Serving
