Chillicothe UMC is seeking a Director of Family Ministries to lead and steward the life of Children and Youth Ministries. This position is responsible for developing, planning, executing, and managing all aspects of the Children and Youth Ministries at Chillicothe UMC. The Director of Family Ministries will supervise the Family Ministry Assistants and Nursery Staff. The successful candidate must be committed to living and growing as a disciple, a follower of Jesus Christ. They must also be committed to the United Methodist Church and to the Wesleyan Way of making disciples.

Responsibilities:

Support and assist with God Squad
Lead, plan, grow, and execute the youth group
Supervise, coordinate and schedule nursery staff
Create, oversee and manage budget for Children and Youth ministries
Ensure adherence to the Safe Gathering Policy of CUMC
Provide Pastoral care and support for children, youth and their families
Visit the website regularly to ensure that it is updated in Family Ministries area
Attend regular staff meetings, weekly worship services and church events
Attend events outside of church that the children and youth participate in
Lead the Family Ministry Team in fulfilling the mission and vision of the churc
Any other task assigned by Lead Pastor

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and/or master’s degree preferred
Creativity and ability to recruit and work well with a team/volunteers and other staff members
Good/positive communication skills
Relational with children, youth and parents
Commitment to spiritual growth and development
Commitment to professional development
Ability to develop and manage a budget
