Director/Pastor of Discipleship - Chillicothe United Methodist Church (Chillicothe)


Spiritual Growth – members growing through the discipleship of the church partner with leadership to encourage and promote member involvement in adult educational opportunities so that strong relationships of spiritual growth are fostered. In coordination with other leaders encourage and teach through various ministries and relationships (small groups, Bible Studies, one-on- one discipling, preaching). Serve as a resource person for with all those involved in the leadership of spiritual education and growth ministries within the body.

Emphasis: Develop age-appropriate ministries to reach all the children and their families in the church. Equip, recruit, train, and lead adults to assist in reaching children in each grade level for Christ. Develop and promote vital small group, congregational-size and celebration experiences. Plan, schedule and coordinate large group meetings, retreats, trips, etc. Develop children and their parents leadership teams and opportunities to serve. Create and implement a cohesive plan for service and mission with Acts 1:8 in mind. Jerusalem (local), Judea (Regional), Samaria (Cross-Cultural) and to the ends of the earth (Foreign) .

Administration: Oversee tracking of budget, receipts, deposits, petty cash and disbursements. Oversee administration and fundraising needs for special events and projects. Handle all mailings related to the ministry. Kids4Christ, God Squad, and Jr.

Worship: Recruit, equip and lead adults for reaching children for Jesus Christ. Developing vital small group, congregation and celebration experiences. Plan, schedule and coordinate program activities, camps, special events, etc. Organize every area of children’s ministry. Recruit and train teachers and helpers for every area of children’s ministry recruit, develop and train an advisory team (Children’s Committee) for you to direct, consult and advise for the ministry of children Church-Wide

Visibility: Serve as primary leader and communicator for a Sunday service targeted at children and their families. Communicate the overall vision, goals and strategy of the children’s ministries to the parents and church. Partner with parents to help them realize God's dream for their child with the goal to produce children who are authentic disciples of Christ reaching others for Christ with the purpose of evangelism and discipleship. Assist the Senior Pastor in the implementation of the vision and goals for the Chillicothe United Methodist Church. Assist the Senior Pastor in providing care to the congregation Perform all other duties assigned by the Senior Pastor. Salary 25-30k including housing
