Church Office Manager/Administrative Assistant - Concord Trinity UMC (St. Louis)

Concord Trinity UMC is looking for an Office Manager/Administrative Assistant to serve the staff and congregation in Saint Louis.

General Statement of Duties: This person will have responsibility for the daily operation of the church office, and will interact with the staff in all areas, including planning and preparation for the three (3) weekly worship services; edits and publishes the weekly church bulletin and monthly newsletter; manages the church schedule and interacts with outside and inside groups requesting use of the church for activities; resolves conflicts among organizations relating to church rules and use. This person also coordinates all office purchases, ensures communications among staff are completed, attends weekly staff meetings and maintains the homebound and special needs lists for the Senior Pastor. This person will also have responsibility for maintaining the location of the staff so that in the event of emergency or outside request requiring Staff response, the appropriate staff person can be contacted for action, plus will develop and publish staff meeting agendas and noted for the Pastor . This position requires a significant amount of independent action with the ability to obtain direction for those actions from the appropriate staff member. Interface with the staff, visitors, members and suppliers is critical to success. This position requires high diplomacy when dealing with people in person or via telephone. Good common sense is required to deal with multiple priorities and deadlines, manage a wide variety of tasks and run the office in a logical, organized fashion. Must have a passion for organization and enable others to reach success through support for their ministries. Must have a friendly, upbeat, outgoing approach to life that resonates well with visitors and church membership. Ability to exercise human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective work and confidential relations with the congregation and staff, including a wide variety of persons on telephone or in person.
