A New Experience

Welcome to the Conference Youth and College and Blog.  I am Beverly Boehmer and this is a new experience for me, to blog.  I have been involved in youth ministry from the time I was a youth.  I started as an adult volunteer in 1967, when my husband, Jerry began his seminary field education in South Bend, Indiana.  Since that time I have worked in local churches as a volunteer and on staff in youth ministry.

It was in 1996 that I began as a Conference Youth Coordinator and now my title is Director of Youth and College Ministries.  As I look back alot has changed.  I now I begin a new experience, blogging.  It is my hope that this blog will create discussion and share ideas.  It will be a place where we can share the story of what is happening.

I work with two groups, Missouri College Connection or known as MC2 and Conference Council on Youth Ministries or known as CCYM.  Both of these are leadership groups.  Both help connect and provide ministries on a Conference level.  Also I work with local churches helping with training and consultation.  Working with youth leaders in local churches is also a major part of my responsibilities, providing training opportunities.

What is happening now?  College Spring Break Mission Trips.  I just returned from New Orleans where 38 college students are working this week.   They are from Truman State and Missouri State.  There will be students in New Orleans the whole month of March.  I am back in New Orleans next week and will give you a first hand report of the progress.
