Share any relevant background information including leadership experience both within the church and in other areas of your life.

I have been a faith practicing United Methodist for over 40 plus years; currently I serve as chair of the worship leaders in my local church, and also as a worship leader. I am a retired commander with the St. Louis County Police Department in St. Louis, MO, as such I have years of proven, leadership ability, mentoring, directing and evaluating staff experience.

Describe your personal practices of intentional faith development that strengthen your spiritual engagement with God and your capacity for fruitful leadership in the church.

My childhood rooted faith development has grown and continued through out my life. I weekly attend Bible Study, worship, and fellowship with other congregrants after worship. I speak at other churches, and am supported by their clergy and staff. I am strenghtened by the guidance and presence of God in my life, like a soldier in His army, I can not be turned around.

Why do you seek election as a lay delegate representing the Missouri Conference?

I seek election to the Jurisdictional Conference, as my interest is to expand, deepen my service, and use my proven gifts to serve God and my church through prayers first, and extending my experience to contributing to the growth and future of my juisdictional church.

How will your involvement in General Conference 2020 support the church to fulfill the mission “to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world”?

As a disciple of Jesus Christ, where ever I am, it is my mission to remain prayed up, that others will see 'something Christ-Like about' my character, my actions, my committment, my life's journery and be inspired to want to know more about Jesus Christ, because if I did it, they can as well!

Since the primary focus for Jurisdictional Conference is to elect new bishops, what qualifications do you think the church needs in its future episcopal leaders?

Bishops are not to be elected based on friendship or simply a pleasant personality, so much more must be factored into the selection. An individual that has shown an ability to be prayer prioritized before all and any /decisions/action(s) A person who has demonstrated spiritually healthy choices both in their past and current leadership assignments; a strong, fair, inclusive, strategic thinker, putting similiar persons on their leadership team to move in a Godly manner, dreaming big for the ensured future of our UMC church.
