Priority Projects
During the 2009 World Round Table for Mozambique priority projects related to strengthening the church were named. You do not have to be a covenant partner to help! Contact Carol Kreamer at the Mozambique Initiative to learn more.
Bishop Joaquina Nhanala, Mozambique Area Bishop and the four other delegates from Mozambique led off the round table meeting by presenting a new vision for the United Methodist Church in Mozambique:
- A church that is equipped for holistic ministries to the community
- A church that is renewed spiritually to build the Kingdom of God
- A church with competent leadership that is committed to Christ
- A church that is transparent and accountable at all levels
- A church that is self-sustainable
Priority projects to support the vision:
- Gondola Training Center in Manica Province will be the home base for training in evangelization and church growth. Needed for training laity and local pastors, the center now has one building completed. Another needs windows and doors. Bathroom facilities and a home for the director also need to be built.
- Completion of Unfinished Chapel Buildings – the priority of MI in 2009 was to raise funds to complete church buildings started in years past. Some churches are huge, some small and everything in-between. Consider this as a means to stretch your own capital campaign into a mission outside the walls. Click here for list, stories and photos.
- Got special talent? Consider participating in a capacity-building VIM – put your computer knowledge to work teaching the basics of Excel, Word, Outlook and SKYPE! Contact Evelyn Rogers or MI coordinator Carol Kreamer for more information.
