The United Methodist Committee On Relief is the humanitarian relief and development agency of the United Methodist Church. UMCOR receives no apportionments. It is funded by a special offering called the �One Great Hour of Sharing.� Gifts to this offering underwrite UMCOR's costs of doing business. That means that 100 percent of every other gift made to a specific UMCOR project can be spent on that project. This offering is traditionally celebrated on the fourth Sunday of Lent, although local churches can choose their own day.
