Written: 1/22/2010

Morning Star Church (MSC) invites the local United Methodist Community to a benefit concert supporting the United Methodist Committee on Relief’s (UMCOR) relief efforts in Haiti. The free concert is being held on Saturday, January 30 at 7:00 pm and will feature Mark Roach.

Mark, MSC’s worship leader, signed a national recording contract with Myrrh/Word Records in 2006 and released his debut project, Every Reason Why, in 2007. Four of Mark’s songs have garnered national airplay on stations such as XM and Sirius Satellite Radio. Three of his songs reached the Top 10 on both the CRW and R&R charts, one of which cracked the top 10 and reached #2 on both charts. Mark’s songs are sung in churches across the nation and world and have been translated into multiple languages. He’s shared the stage with Amy Grant, MercyMe, Big Daddy Weave, Matthew West, Building 429, Aaron Shust, SonicFLOOD, and Steve Fee.

The benefit concert will be held at MSC and will include stories, struggles, and scriptures that have inspired Mark’s song-writing over the years.

MSC is located at 1600 Feise Rd. in O’Fallon. For more information and directions to the church, visit www.mscwired.org.
