Many people know that gifts to Heifer International are used to help end hunger and poverty in the U.S. and around the world.  However there is more to their mission statement which is to work with communities to end hunger and poverty and to care for the earth.   We have invited Rob Cahill to Columbia to tell the story about how Heifer is working to accomplish their mission in Guatemala.  Rob is the co-founder of Community Cloud Forest Conservation in Guatemala and has worked closely with Heifer in that country for 12 years.  The public is invited to attend Rob’s presentation.

Date:  Sunday (Earth Day), April 22nd from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Location:  Calvary Episcopal Church, 123 S. Ninth Street, Columbia

Contact:  Terri Williams or Carol Oliver at 573-474-7155 or at oliver@umocm.com

Expect:  Spectacularly beautiful and compelling pictures of the cloud forest and the people as you learn about Heifer’s work.
