Mid-State Leading and Learning/Lay Servant Ministry Courses
Our training is valuable for and open to all. We will be conducting three training events on April 23rd. Links to the flyers and registration information are found below. "Basic Lay Servant Ministry" Training serves as a primer for all United Methodists as well as the Basic Course for those interested in pursuing Lay Servant Ministries and a means of discipleship and service. Taught by Rick Matson. "Living our United Methodist Beliefs and Heritage." Open to all who wish to enhance their discipleship and understanding of the importance of our beliefs and background and how it contributes to our life of faith. Serves as a Lay Servant Ministries Advanced Course. A required course for those pursuing pulpit supply (role of Lay Speaker). Taught by Rev. Elmer Revelle. "Lay Pastoral Care Ministries." Open to all. Visitation and care giving for those at varying ages, conditions, stages of faith; and care for persons involved in life changing events under the direction of a pastor or supervisor. Serves as a Lay Servant Ministry Advanced Course. Taught by Rev. Alan Helland, retired Chaplain of the VA Hospital and Tresia Griffith, Stephen Minister. All courses will be conducted at the Missouri United Methodist Conference Center from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on April 23rd. Registration by email (email@example.com) or mail by April 16th.
