Central Methodist University will host its fourth annual Leadership Institute for United Methodist Church clergy and lay persons Tuesday, May 10. More than 100 participants are expected to attend the one-day session in the CMU Student and Community Center.
Tim Stevens, executive pastor of Granger Community Church, Granger, Ind., will be the keynote speaker, and Karen Hayden, director of the office of pastoral excellence for the Missouri Conference of the United Methodist Church, will be the afternoon speaker.
Stevens' topic will be "Strategic Leadership Skills for Reaching a Younger and Diverse Population with the Gospel." Hayden's topic will be "Escaping Our Christian Bubble: Sustaining Relationships with College-age People."
The event is open to clergy and laity alike. Participants may qualify for Continuing Education Units. There is no charge for registration and lunch.
