Church Hazards and Accessibility

A workshop on how to accommodate and keep safe all who enter our sanctuaries

Church safety is an important issue and one that can be hard to handle effectively. A safe church adds to the welfare of all which step foot onto the church grounds and helps reduce insurance costs. What is required by law? What is just good common sense? This workshop will help you get your church safety up to par.  This program also cultivates participation during services and other activities and gives everyone a sense of security. This workshop is intended for everyone but parish staff, administrative councils and trustees are urged to attend.

What the workshop includes:

·         OSHA vs. parishioner safety

·         What’s required from a legal standpoint

·         Accessibility for ALL who enter our sanctuary and halls

·         Sexton/Trustees responsibilities

·         Staff responsibilities

Attendees will receive a CD that has the following information:

§         Safety Checklists

§         Templates for proper documentation from the legal standpoint and for the safety of all who enter the church.
