New Wineskin’s is a Conversation on Closing and Repositioning Churches.
Hundreds, if not thousands, of our churches are on the declining side of their life cycle to the point of being irrelevant in the mission field in which they are located.
Cabinets struggle with what to do with them and how to persuade them to close and utilize their assets to do new ministry in a new way. Most every Bishop and DS is wary of the dreaded ‘floor fight’ at Annual Conference if the church in question decides to fight “being closed.”
It’s time to gather together and have an honest, candid conversation. While you will hear from a number of resource people who help with this issue, the point is not to come and learn from experts (we don’t really have any) .... but to participate in structured learning and conversation.
When? September 14-16, 2015
Start Time: 12:30pm
(note: current Missouri church planters mandatory meeting Wed. from 11:30-1:30pm)
