Church Secretary is an essential ministry of the church.As the first line of contact for visitors and members, whether by phone or in person, the Secretary is a reflection of the church, and is therefore an important part of the church's public image and outreach. Discretion, a positive attitude, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent interpersonal skills are critical qualifications for anyone occupying this position. The successful candidate will run the church office, handle administrative responsibilities, and provide a wide range of support to the pastor and staff, as well as the Church Council and Ministries of the church.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • General Secretarial duties which include a range of office-related tasks, such as answering phones, receiving visitors, general correspondence, ordering supplies, managing the church schedule, calendar, scheduling of maintenance, service calls and deliveries
  • Production of the Weekly Order of Service Bulletin and the Monthly Informer
  • Support Pastor and other Staff Members
  • produce the Church Directory
  • Scheduling oversight for access to the church facilities and resources
  • Social Media footprint creation
  • Updating and website maintenance
  • Other clerical responsibilities as needed
